Generators and backup power, wired safely
Outages here are usually short, so most families don't need to run the whole house — they need the fridge, a few lights, the internet, and a CPAP or a medical device. We wire that properly: a transfer switch or panel interlock, a labeled critical-loads list, and no suicide cord plugged into a dryer outlet.

Picking the critical loads
We sit down with your panel directory and decide together what stays on: refrigerator, one lighting circuit per floor, the router, a bedroom receptacle for medical equipment, the garage door, and often the furnace blower. Then we group those on the backed-up side so you aren't making choices in the dark.
Safety, plainly
Backfeeding a panel through an appliance cord energizes the utility drop and can kill a line worker. Every install we do is permitted, mechanically interlocked or switched, and labeled with operating instructions at the panel so a house-sitter can follow them.
