Rewiring & Knob-and-Tube Replacement in El Segundo
Whole-house and partial rewires for El Segundo homes with knob-and-tube, ungrounded two-prong outlets or 1970s aluminum branch wiring. Minimal wall openings, patching included.
Knob-and-tube wiring is still active in a surprising number of homes north of Grand Avenue. It has no ground, its insulation is brittle, and it cannot be buried in attic insulation. Many insurers will not write a new policy on a house that still has it.
A full rewire sounds disruptive. Done well, it is not. We fish new cable through existing walls, open plaster only where we must, and patch every hole we make. A typical two-bedroom house takes about a week, and you can live in it the whole time.
Partial rewires are common too: grounding the kitchen and bathrooms, replacing aluminum branch circuits with copper, or bringing a single addition up to code.
